PERFECT SET-UP!! Still want to join CAW? Check this first...

Perfect set-up. Brown guy, Mr. Heaton has 18 years of Union involvement, more than any other candidate, but he still has to compete with Sid, a white guy with 3 years of Union involvement for a Union job.

Employment Equity for white males, CAW Local 1285 style. Lowering the qualifications bar, so white males can compete.

Brown guy on the selection committee Jaspal Brar follows orders from the whites on the committee and votes for the White guy Sid.
Jaspal is about to get appointed to this Unions national staff for his loyalty.
Employment Equity Rep refuses to look into the case, but quietly agrees with Leon and Terrys decision. Employment Equity alternate also stays quiet because she is used as the Womans Advocate when the full time rep is covering for the absent EFAP rep.
The Womans Advocate also stays quiet because Leon and the boys have promised her the EFAP job.
She is currently used as the EFAP alternate rep. to give her a claim if the Womans Advocate position is given as a concession.

In Human Rights law, this is called COLLUSION!

All this to keep Mr. Heaton from getting the job that he is qualified for.
All this while their industry is in crisis, begging for our tax dollars as a bailout.

EMPLOYERS: Use CAW hiring pratice to avoid human rights cases. You need to hire the right combination of people. It just worked for CAW 1285 in this case, where Mr. Heatons rights were clearly violated AND he can do nothing about it.
