When CAW guys like Leon and his pals practice racism, their whole organization unites behind them. A culture of silence takes over, condoning, colluding, demonizing the victims.
Imagine. CAW has Human Rights Reps(Employment Equity Reps, Womens Advocates, Human Rights Committees) whose sole purpose is to shield guys like Leon Rideout, limit the amount the Union has to pay in damages.
Employers would never be able to treat people the way CAW does. Employers would be taken through Human Rights hell if they ever did anything like what Leon and his pals have been getting away with for years.
You really need to join a union like this?
