Whites want to keep non-white from getting a union job he is uniquely qualified for.
They recruit the Woman's Advocate, some one trained in latest Human Rights tactics. (In CAW, women can commit racism if its done in the name of Woman's Rights)
They recruit the company's Employment Equity Rep, who also is trained in latest Human Rights tactics.
For insurance they recruit the Alternate Employment Equity Rep.
Then they recruit a non-white on the selection committee for cover.
Woman's Advocate sneakily steps into the vacant position on a temporary basis.
Employment Equity Rep looks the other way.
Non-white on selection committee, whose pal, a fellow Punjabi at the National Office, both look the other way.
(This non-white selection committee member is being richly rewarded for proving his loyalty by covering up racism)
When it comes time to post the job, the only truly qualified candidate, a non-white, Mr. Heaton, is denied the job, using the excuse that the Woman's Advocate, Phyllis Foster, (with no previous history or experience in the field, except for the time she was sneaked into the the position) is given the job based on the fact that she has time served. Ya gotta love this!!
Corporations and companies could never ever pull this off.
But Unions can. CAW can and does this on a regular basis as was discussed at the Aboriginal/Workers of Color Conference held earlier this year.
Think twice before YOU sign a Union card.
(Being challenged by this Blog, Caw leaders are claiming that because Mr. Heaton retired, all racist actions by this Union Local are null and void)..!
WE DON'T THINK SO! RACISM IS RACISM!! PERIOD!!
