Should you even care how this Union treats its members internally? YES! YOU SHOULD!!
Why? Union bosses can negotiate contracts that favor a certain group over other groups in a company. They can and do get favourable terms for their friends. They can and do get away with clear and blatant racism.
Look at this case of the Employee and Family Assistance Rep (EFAP) we are writing about.
When these Union bosses Leon Rideout and Terry Browne decided to exercise their awesome racist power and keep out a qualified non-white, the first person they turned to was the Womans Advocate, a Human Rights position. Human Rights people in CAW are there for a purpose.
To deny YOUR Human Rights.
This woman did not even have to submit a resume. Compared to a non-white she automatically qualified. All she had to do was to volunteer to be the one to keep the position white.
WHY JOIN A UNION THAT WILL DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU JUST LIKE THAT?
WHY PAY UNION DUES TO SUFFER RACISM?
