Selection committee in CAW 1285 are splitting among themselves. Some are claiming they had nothing to do with appointing this woman Phyllis Foster.
Phyllis has Human Rights training and collaborated with a racist decision to deny most qualified candidate, Mr. Heaton. Too bad he is non-white, otherwise he would have gotten the job.
Selection committee members say, appointment was done during plant lay-off, behind members backs. Only Terry Browne and Leon Rideout,(maybe Jaspal Brar the token non-white) were involved in giving EFAP job to Phyllis Foster, who did not have to submit resume, unlike ALL other candidates.
Precedent is set.
All CAW injured workers who want to return to work under the Labour Market Re-entry program can do so in 1285 and in National Union. All Union positions are elegible for this program.
Gives new meaning to favourite Union slogan...Injury to one-Is injury to all!

This is huge. Stunning! It will affect whole Labour movement. WSIB should find out about this.
